New Beginnings...
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2
Beginning, the point in time or space at which something starts, comes into existence, or is first encountered. At midnight tonight a new year is beginning. When you open a book and read the first chapter you are often left in suppense, the story is starting and the future awaits. At this point in the story the character still has the potential to make any choice possible and go anywhere. So much is left undecided and in some ways its exciting yet at the same time you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. We find ourselves at the beginning of another book. How will your next page read?
I've been thinking alot about how I want my story to go this year. Plotting where my character might go, what decisions she will make, how this story will end? In so many ways I know that where my character is going this year will be different than anywhere I have gone before. I cannot take credit for this change or control where my character will end up, because this year my character will embrace surrender. I'm coming into this new existence with God. He is calling the shots this time and I know that in order to be the heroine He wants me to be I'm going to have to take chances. My character might not always get it right, in fact most times I won't, but I know that trusting God fully with my life and all my decisions will allow my character to end up perfectly where I am supposed to be at the end of this story. Beginnings, in a book, in a song, in a day, set the tone for what lies ahead. They might be scary but they are full of hope. Anything is possible, embrace your beginning. An exciting story awaits...
