Dear Daughter...a letter of HOPE.

Dear Daughter,

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil. Hebrews 6:19

Somewhere along the road to blogging my life, it occurred to me that these words have the potential to remain forever. In and out of weeks, and months, I compiled stories and lessons I had learned along the way. While I did not realize it from the start, I began to hope that these blogs would one day serve as love letters to my future children, more specifically a future daughter!

So perhaps one day my sweet young daughter will read this. Perhaps one day she will see these words on a page and know they were meant for her. And perhaps, maybe today you will read these same words, and perhaps you will know these words were meant for you, the daughter of a KING!

At 27, I feel both old and young. I have learned a lot. Yet, I have so much more to learn. I have grown a lot. Yet, there is so much more growing to do. I have experienced the good and bad of life. I have known trials and hardship; love and joy. And with everything, I have known grace.

So here's my hope.

First of all, be you! You are beautiful and perfect in every way that God created you! The world has enough cookie cutter people. Do not be afraid to break that mold. If you like it, wear it! If you do not than don't. The world will tell you you have to be a certain way to fit in, do not believe the lies! You were not made just to fit in, you were made to be great! Whatever passions lie in your heart, pursue those! Passion is God's way of revealing who He wants us to be and what our gifts really are! Just because it has not been done before, or is not "normal", does not mean it cannot, or should not, be done! If you believe it in your heart, go after it! Some pretty impossible things happen when you trust! Do not obsess over how you look. Your beauty is internal! Eat the extra piece of chocolate. Stay up all night laughing with friends. Wear your favorite pair of jeans everyday! Life is too short to worry about those little things. But take care of yourself too! Drink water. Break a sweat. Wear sunscreen. Your health is important. God has given you so much. Don't take it for granted. Instead, embrace every ounce of who He has made in you! You have so much love and joy to offer the world simply in who God intended you to be, stay unique!

Second, fall in love. A lot. With all kinds of things; people, pets, movies, music, moments, nature. The more you fall in love, the more you encounter Christ. Do not be afraid of loving. Yes, sometimes it will be one-ended and yes, sometimes it will leave you broken hearted. Do it anyways! Loving is not meant to be easy! And it never really will be, but it is beautiful. And the more you love, the more you will discover God's love for you! People will fail you. Things will not always go the way you had hoped. Pets will die. Relationships will be broken. But through every moment you will discover one truth, Christ's love remains. In the darkest of moments, when you think you cannot even crawl out of bed, He will be right there showing you that because of Him, you can! Sometimes heartbreak can be the greatest path back to the love of God. Do not live your life afraid of falling! Be vulnerable! And trust in His love!

Lastly, keep the faith! Every chance you get, pursue a relationship with God. Pray. Sing. Read. Explore your faith! Ask questions. Seek answers. Do not stop pushing for more. Open your heart to journey closer to His. Say yes to His will more and let go of yours! It will not always be easy and most people will not have the courage or patience to do the same in their lives. They might even look at you like you are insane. But surrender, it is always worth it! God desires the best for you! He loves you more than you could ever imagine. More than me, or your best friend, or the love of your life. He is jealous for you. He created you in His own image and likeness. His love for you is unending. It never fails! God is faithful! Let Him prove it to you! And be faithful to Him in return!

My ultimate hope for you is Heaven! Fight for Heaven. Devote your life to that cause and everything else will fall into place.

You are loved beyond measure. That is not a hope. It is a truth! Believe in it!

Love and prayers,

Danielle
